The cities we cover

Redding Pool Pro matches requests in Redding, Anderson, Shasta Lake, Palo Cedro, and in the unincorporated parts of Shasta County, CA between and around them. That is the area the independent route and repair companies we work with actually drive. We deliberately don't publish a separate page for each city: pool water, pool equipment, Redding's summer, and what the work costs are the same across the whole catchment, and a page per town that says so four times would waste your time. If your address is outside these cities, send the request anyway and name the nearest town — coverage depends on which company runs a route in your direction, and we'll tell you if nobody does.

What's the same everywhere in the catchment

• The climate. The whole area shares Redding's hot, dry season — highs consistently above 90°F from mid-June to late September, 98°F average July highs, almost no August rain — which is why weekly service is the norm from May through September and why evaporation runs a quarter to half an inch a day in summer. • Redding Electric Utility. REU is the City of Redding's own electric utility, and it offers no pool-pump rebate as of our last check, so a variable-speed pump's savings case rests on the energy bill alone — details on the pump repair page. If a different utility bills your pump's electricity, the savings math scales with that utility's rate — and we haven't checked that utility's rebate catalog, so ask it directly.

What changes by address: licenses and permits

Redding, Anderson, and Shasta Lake are three separate incorporated cities, each with its own business-license system, and everything outside their limits — Palo Cedro included — is unincorporated Shasta County with its own permit portal. Two practical consequences for a pool owner:

• A company's city business license is a location fact, not a competence fact. A company based in Redding needs a City of Redding business license even if every pool it services is in Anderson; a company based in unincorporated county doesn't need Redding's license at all. Don't read the presence or absence of one as a signal about the company — the CSLB license (for repair) is the one that matters.
• If a repair needs a permit, which office issues it depends on the pool's address. Most cleaning and like-for-like equipment swaps don't; work that touches a gas line (a heater replacement, for example) or new electrical may. Ask the company whether the job needs one and who pulls it — then use the table below to know which office they mean.

How a request gets routed

You tell us the city (or nearest town for a county address) and what the pool needs. Weekly cleaning goes to a route company that already drives your area; pump, filter, heater, and leak work goes to a company that reports holding a D-35 (or C-53) license and covers it. Route density is the honest constraint: a company with twenty pools in Palo Cedro will take a twenty-first at the standard rate, while one with none may pass or add a trip charge — which is why we route by address rather than promising every company everywhere.
